About Me

In 1998, I was appointed as a university professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich Hospital, where I directed the Hormone and Fertility Center until March 2024. Previously, I worked at renowned clinics and institutes both domestically and internationally – including at the Center for Reproduction and Transplantation Immunology in Indianapolis (USA), at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston, at the Medical School of Aberdeen (UK), and at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Throughout my career, I have held numerous leadership positions in professional societies. I was Vice President of the American Society of Reproductive Immunology (ASRI), President of the German Society for Reproductive Medicine (DGRM), and the German Association for Reproductive Biology and Medicine (DVR). I also served as Vice President of the German Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics (DGGG), Board Member of the German Menopause Society, and Chair of the Working Group of University Reproductive Medicine Centers (URZ).

Furthermore, I am an elected member of the Zurich Circle, an expert commission for special issues in gynecological endocrinology and hormonal contraception. As an appointed member of the advisory board for “assisted reproduction” at the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care, I contribute my experience to health policy decision-making processes. Additionally, I serve as an expert for the G-BA (Federal Joint Committee) in the field of reproductive medicine.
